Property valuation in Norway

BNP Paribas Real Estate – Valuation is able to address the property valuation needs of clients for all asset types in Norway.

Understanding Norwegian property value

Our property experts understand the Norwegian property market, and can accompany you in your property valuation projects across the country thanks to a deep understanding of local market and rent values.

Located in the heart of the Nordic region, Norway is bordered by Sweden, Finland, Russia and Denmark. Its extensive coastline links it to North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea. With a population of approximately 5.2* million, Norway’s competitive economy is based on global commerce and business regulation that encourages entrepreneurial activity.

Public transport is less developed than in many European countries, because the country is sparsely populated, especially outside of major cities. As a result, the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications has sponsored rail, road, and air transport projects to develop the country's infrastructure in recent years. Several new high-speed railways are set to be completed in 2024 to connect major cities.

Property valuation in Oslo

With a population of approximately 644,000, Oslo is the capital and largest city in Norway. As the hub of Norwegian trade, banking, industry and shipping, it is an important centre for maritime trade in Europe.

The Greater Oslo Region includes the city of Oslo, Akershus county and several Buskerud municipalities: Oppland , Vestfold and Østfold. Oslo's central business district includes the Vika, Aker Brygge and Fornebu neighbourhoods. Vika is the city's diplomatic district while Aker Brygge has attracted businesses and retail industry players. Fornebu is home to the city’s main IT companies. The city centre is set to expand further: a new government quarter will soon be built in Oslo’s central business district.

Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway and is located on the peninsula of Bergenshalvøyen. Surrounded by mountains, it is known as the 'city of “seven mountains”. The city centre is located in 'the city fjord' and is home to several major industrial and trade businesses. The Fjell neighbourhood in the western municipality has a number of dedicated properties for oil industry trade along the North Sea. The southern municipality of neighbouring Austevoll is a leading port for the fishery, aquaculture and offshore shipping industries.
